Our story
A Father-Son Shop Since 1986
AB Auto Upholstery has been repairing leather and vinyl seats in San Diego since 1986. We are a family shop, run father and son, and we still do the work the way we always have: by hand, matched to your car's original color and material.
Whether it is a torn driver's seat, a cracked panel, or a full custom cover because the factory replacement is not worth the price, we take the time to get the color and thickness right. For brands like Mercedes-Benz, we carry original material so the repair matches what came from the factory.
Most jobs are done the same day, by appointment. Stop by during business hours on Convoy Court, or call ahead so we can have your material ready.

What customers say
“Highly recommend this place. Fixed the seat in our 08 Lexus. Better pricing than 3 other shops that quoted me in the same area. They got it done same day. And it's been a few months and still looks great.”
“Highly recommend, look no further! Best price, best work. A quarter of the price the dealership asked me for. Gustavo was patient and professional, and helped me decide on the best color and thickness for the repair. It turned out great, and was done within one day by appointment. Super happy for my car, it was overdue for TLC. Thank you!”
“Abel and his team did fantastic work, repairing the vinyl and leather driver seat of my 2007 Saab. It's color-matched and looks brand new! They've been in business since 1986 so they know what they're doing and they do it very well. A great value, too, as they undercut a competitor in the area. I highly recommend them!”
